Thai Chiles #2 (sold)

Thai Chiles #2, oil on canvas, 7" X 5", 2008
sold

They're shriveling under the lights, so this is likely the last chile painting for awhile. One of the little buggers turned orange overnight! They others are starting to go too...

Yum, your blog is making me hungry lately. I loved the clementine painting. Coincidentally, I made a clementine salad that same night you posted it. Keep up the great work!

Thanks Ellen! You and Robert could always have Ole Jasers over for dinner...

how do you make that slatey browny purpley blue?....

Hi Dan,
I most often start with a background tone of Cad. Orange mixed with Ultramarine Blue. Some of that peeks through the top layers, which consists of various swabs of mixtures of the following colors:
Ultramarine Blue
Burnt Umber
A. Crimson
Tit. White
