The Lummi indian tribe fishes the waters right off the island using a traditional method called reef netting, which is one of the most ecologically sound fish harvesting methods, which equals good fish.

This is the first of fifteen or so paintings I recently completed to hang at Willows Inn on Lummi Island, which is one of those few perfect places on earth. These oysters are one of several varieties that are found in the waters of the Salish Sea.

First came across these in a dish at the Inn... grilled oysters with sage, tequila and brown butter. Yum!
