Hey Jason, This painting is wonderful! The colors are so vibrant...and really give the impression of light. I like how the reflection is just "there" without distracting from the focus of the piece. Nice!
Thank you. The glass has sort of a sandblasted surface that really diffuses light and reflection, which makes it both interesting to paint *and* challenging.
Frank,
Thank you! Your recent posts, were very insightful. I need to do more plein air painting-- I haven't done it in a while, but hope to start again this year...
I am a Seattle based artist who paints and sketches the world around him. I am primarily a figurative painter (please checkout my website!).
I paint everyday, and my blog showcases the small paintings I work on to sharpen my eye, loosen my brush, and to grow my skills.

Nice job with the red glass. I really like it.

Beautiful feel to this piece. The light resonates.
I'll let you know when I head outside to paint again, it would be fun to do it together.
Thanks Paul!
I'd love to head out with you. I'll confess to some trepidation though, as my plein air skills are such weak sauce.
I LOVE this one- the colors are gorgeous, and you did a wonderful job of capturing the sandblasted glass
Thanks Kellie!
