Spring Daffodils #2 (private collection)

Spring Daffodils #2, oil on canvas, 5" X 7", 2008
(private collection)

These flowers are kickin' my butt. I was happy with the first, painted under artificial light, but the last and this one were tough. I actually put this one away yesterday, and revisited it again today, after screwing up my courage. It's better than the last...

Beautiful composition. The color palette is outstanding.

Kickin your butt means you are learning something. Glad to see you are keeping at them.

I'd say you kicked those flower's butts right back! Nice job, Jason.

Thank you Alvin: it was a struggle, it's good to hear that it isn't stinking up the joint... :)

Frank,
Yeah-- I definitely need a little further in depth time with the color yellow.

Don,
I'm no pansy, but those daffodils wiped the floor with me. :)

Painting Daffodils is no walk in the park. From one who's butt gets kicked by daffs every spring...these look great!!
Good Going!

you kicked them right back. Love the luminosity in the flowers.

You write about the struggle of producing which is something I'm always trying to improve.
Although I've yet to do a painting a day with consistency, since beginning my blog, I am much more productive. Having instant access to fantastic artists from all over the world is thrilling and keeps me pumped up.
Thanks for sharing your day to day struggles and triumphs.
