| Initial block in. If you squint, you can see that I've established three main value groups. I started with the darkest value for the shadow part of the skull (which you can see in the picture above this one)-- which is also my middle value in this case. |

| I've now filled in the lightest values. While there will be lots of refinement in the drawing, and the addition of a few darker darks and highlights, the main value structure is complete. |
