Bread and Butter, oil on clayboard, 5" X 7", 2011 sold Painted on clayboard surface for the first time in forever-- very odd surface. Sucks the oil right up.
I KNOW! Imagine my surprise when I saw your reference to Julian's Beurre d'Isigny" painting. I LOVE that painting, but it wasn't in mind for this piece. On the other hand, I also had no idea he had seen Connor Walton's piece Butter. (again, not inspiration for this piece)
MY inspiration for this piece was Connor Walton's OTHER butter painting: Butter, Milk, and Honey

Beautiful painting!
I like the colour combinations on this work. Mmm was that lunch?
Oh look - a butter painting! :)
Claybord is just downright weird.
Geraldo,
Gracias!
Robert,
The bread was moldy, and the butter rancid, not to mention soft under the lights. In my younger days... probably would have been. :)

The clayboard was purchased by accident.
Love this one.
Mary,
Thank you!
