I went to Lincoln City to take part in an Arts festival, which has a Quick Draw Paint out. I did this last year, and I had some ideas I wanted to try out this time around. I set up in the same spot I did last time, but with a bigger canvas.

I wanted to see if I could get an 11 X 14 panel done in two hours, and what you see here is the result.

Overcast days are the best for painting, so many colours and textures to tackle. This is very well done, I esp. like the foreground and the textures in the wood as well as the furious, growling sky.

I'm originally from Lincoln in the UK, we don't have a bay but oh boy do we have those skies!

Hi Caroline,

Thank you for the thoughtful comment. I grew up in New Mexico, land of amazing clouds-- especially during the monsoon season in the summer.

Love a gray day. Atmosphere and color. Nice.

Thanks Mary-- the next day was completely different-- sunny and bright. Go figure.
