Two Figs (on hold)

Two Figs, oil on canvas, 5" X 7", 2010
(on hold)
I've been prepping to deliver paintings for a group show at Brackenwood Gallery in Langley on Whidbey Island here in Washington state. I've created half a dozen new pieces, but I'm not sure which (or how many) they'll be interested in hanging-- or holding.
Expect to see a flood of new work over the next few weeks as I figure out where pieces are headed.

Plum Branch (sold)

Plum Branch, oil on canvas, 5" X 7", 2010
sold
For the last nine years I thought this tree in my yard was a cherry tree. Apparently I'm not much of an arborist. It's a plum tree. The plums are just really small.
Cherry sized.
If you're in town tonight (Friday 9/10/2010) please stop by my neighborhood (Beacon Hill), and meet me at The Station-- a coffee spot just behind the light rail station. I have quite a few pieces up (including this one), many are of the surrounding area.
I'll be there from 5 pm to 8 pm.
Stop by. I'd love to see you!

I show here in Seattle fairly frequently (I have two other shows up right now: Lower Queen Anne Ladro and Mokas) but it seems like I haven't had an "opening" in forever. That changes this Friday!

I haven't made my own panels for a bit-- I prefer to paint on linen, but I refuse to pay $8.00 a panel.
I finally sat down and made a new batch, and boy do I feel the difference. Painting on oil primed linen is like adding WD-40 to a squeaky hinge... so much smoother.

I'm very lucky to have been included in the newest issue of Artists and Poets magazine. Especially lucky, because one of my heroes (Duane Keiser) is in the same issue! It's very snazzy, and the full issue is available on line.
Check it out here.
