Skull Number 3 (repost)
Happy Halloween! This is a repost from May, but I thought it fitting for the day... |
Skull No 3, oil on linen, 5" X 7", 2013
$125 USD framed
|
 |
| Palette and lighting set up |
 | |||
| Initial block in. If you squint, you can see that I've established three main value groups. I started with the darkest value for the shadow part of the skull (which you can see in the picture above this one)-- which is also my middle value in this case. |
 |
| I've now filled in the lightest values. While there will be lots of refinement in the drawing, and the addition of a few darker darks and highlights, the main value structure is complete. |
